It’s time to go back and back under as is certain to be big with fans who finally got a “first look” at THE MATRIX RESURRECTION and are left to determine what happened to Neo after the conclusion of the first trilogy!
Are we crazy to have even imagined that we’d seen the last of NEO and the remaining bits of mankind left to disconnect from the apocalyptic fate of a future dystopia where humans have become living batteries to an Earth overrun with cybernetic usurpers? We think not! It’s clear from the just-released trailer for the highly anticipated THE MATRIX Resurrection our fate remains in whether we take the Blue Pill or choose to take the Red Pill. The original trilogy’s stars return Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss are reprising their roles — or are they?
It’s all pretty vague exactly what is going on but it is apparent that our heroes’ memories may have been erased and they are unaware of the role they played in humanity’s revolution, but with director Lana Wachowski returning to the franchise that set off an entire existential sci-fi renaissance, this latest installment is certain to pave the way for this next generation of MATRIX fanatics. The most obvious omission from the trailer is the absence of Laurence Fishburne’s MORPHEUS. The actor declined to return for the sequel, which now boasts Neil Patrick Harris and Yahya Abdul Mateen II.
