Harrison Ford returns in the franchise’s fifth installment debuting the trailer for the much anticipated next adventure in the series that promises high adventure and humor and some horsing around in the New York City subway tunnels?!
Fans are getting their “first look” at the summer’s most anticipated big-screen blockbuster as Harrison Ford suits up (perhaps for the last time) in the famous leather bomber jacket and fedora for INDIANA JONES and the Dial of Destiny. The fifth installment in one of the most successful movie franchises of all time is the first one that will not have director Steven Spielberg at the helm. Directorial duties have been passed to the very capable James Mangold, best known for critical hits Walk the Line, Ford v Ferrari, and 2017’s Logan.
For a short while, audiences were wondering if there ever would be another Indiana Jones. The lackluster performance of the fourth film and scathing reviews, left many wondering if we’d seen the last of Indy. Tinsel Town had suggested that it might be looking for the “next” Indy and had tapped Marvel Studios’ Chris Pratt to step into the role. Ford immediately put those rumors to rest, proclaiming that Indiana Jones would “die with him”, implying that he was not prepared to pass on bullwhip. It wasn’t long before the announcement was made that Indiana Jones would return.
At this past season’s D23 Expo, Ford took to the stage to confirm that he would indeed return, at least one more time, to the role of the world-famous adventurer and archeologist and even appeared to get emotional when relaying to the audience how excited he is by this latest feature film. Joining Ford on this caper will be returning fan-favorite John Rhys-Davies reprising his role of faithful friend Sallah, and new to the franchise is Phoebe Waller-Bridge. The celebrated writer/comedian has been much talked about and based on the trailer, is in the thick of the action!
