After a publishing wide reboot that that reimagined the entire line of comic books DC Comics redesigned the pantheon of legendary characters -- heroes that have been part of the popular vernacular for more than 75 years -- with the very ambition initiative then branded The New 52. Longtime faithful comic book readers were shocked to wake up and discover that their favorites including Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman had all been retconned, their histories, obliterated legacies, in an attempt to attract all new audiences.
